The cardiovascular system is one of the most important aspects of our health and we should pay it constant attention. It is the heart, the veins and the blood vessels and it takes in pulmonary, systemic and coronary circulation. Cardiorespiratory fitness is the ability of both the respiratory and the circulatory systems to supply oxygen to skeletal muscles during physical activity. There are many ways to improve your cardiorespiratory fitness, and yes increasing your aerobic exercise will be a great way to do so, but be mindful and realise that lifting weights will also help improve your cardiovascular health.

Alot of us right now are feeling sluggish so I would 100% recommend purchasing a skipping rope off Amazon or E-bay. The one in the picture was £3! Skipping ropes are inexpensive and a good way to get your heart pumping.

Don't worry if you are no good at skipping... you will be by the end of lockdown! Instead of worrying about skipping to time, why not challenge yourself to 3 x 20 skips and then progress a little each day... 3x 25 / 30 / 35 and so on. Soon you will be skipping 3 x 100 in one go. When you reach 100 skips, add additional sets. 4x 100, 5x 100 and so on.
