Gingerol is the main bioactive compound in ginger and the majority of it is found in the natural oils of the root, so if you are looking for a way to get all of the benefits ginger has to offer, fresh is better for you than dried. However, it can be tricky trying to incorporate the same amount of ginger found in a ginger shot into your diet each day! By taking a ginger shot, all the health benefits of gingerols are concentrated in one quick sip. Summarised below are 8 reasons I can think of to why ginger shouldn't be overlooked in our diets.
Ginger has powerful antioxidants which can help protect cells from damage by free radicals in the body. this means ginger can help get rid of toxins and keep your body happy and healthy.
Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties which help combat swelling, joint and muscle pain.
Ginger is a well known treatment for an upset stomach, types of nausea and some say that it can be used as a hangover remedy.
Ginger has cancer-fighting properties, likely due to its high levels of antioxidants. some research has shown that gingerol may help protect against certain cancers such as breast cancer, pancreatic cancer and ovarian cancer.
Ginger may improve cardiovascular health. studies have shown that people who ingested more ginger had a lower chance of developing chronic heart disease or high blood pressure.
Ginger may help protect against or improve symptoms of chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, colitis and Alzheimer's.
Ginger may help with indigestion as it helps speed up gastric emptying (how quickly the stomach empties itself), which may provide relief for those who suffer with pain and discomfort.
